Practice Nurses
We are privileged to have very experienced qualified nurses. They work closely with the Doctors and perform an extensive range of procedures & tests including:
- Health Checks
- Blood pressure
- Blood sampling
- Dressings, removal of stitches
- Ear syringing
- Asthma management
- Diabetes Management
- Cervical smears
- COPD management
- Hypertension reviews
- Immunisations for children, adults and foreign travel.
Please make an appointment to see the Nurse during surgery hours. Occasionally the Nurse may need to consult a Doctor about your condition.

The Receptionists
The Reception Staff are trained to assist you in making appointments, arranging home visits and helping with enquiries. They may need to gather details from you to ensure accuracy and speed of response from the surgery, please understand this information is confidential.

The Surgery is closed during Bank Holidays. A locum Doctor is sometimes engaged to cover a Doctor’s absence
Sickness Certification
You should complete a self-certificate (available at reception) if you are ill and off work for a period of up to 7 days. If you are ill for more than 7 days and require a Medical Certificate you will be required to attend a Doctor.
Fees
Certain services are not covered by the N.H.S. and you will be asked to pay a fee e.g. HGV medicals / Insurance Forms / some vaccinations / Private Medical Certificates. Our receptionists can advise you about these fees, or you can access these from this website by clicking on ‘Fees for Non-NHS services 2013’ on the drop-down menu from the Clinics & Services tab at the top of this page.
